6HEAD was one of the best restaurants if not THE best restaurant I have ever been to! The service was impeccable and the food was top tier. You definitely need a reservation for this place and it was very crowded but for good reason! My server was Aaron and he was amazing and gave great recommendations for food and all of the servers and workers seemed like very nice people.

The food was out of this world! I got multiple dishes that they recommended because this was a birthday dinner for me so I splurged a bit. I had some oysters to start that came with some yuzu dressing that was fantastic, tasted like yuzu at the front and then was rounded out by a sesame flavor at the end. The Kingfish ceviche was very good and had a slice of chili pepper on top, but don’t worry, the chili was not very spicy, it was all very fresh and bright and light. I had a pesto macaroni and cheese as well as kind of a side dish and it was good! Haven’t had pesto in mac and cheese (not actually macaroni noodles, don't sue me but same concept) before but it added an extra depth of flavor that paired well with my main course. My main course was an Australian Wagyu grass and grain fed for over 400 days which was one of the best steak I’ve ever had. I think personally think it’s better than the Japanese Wagyu. Apparently, the secret is that the cows are fed chocolate for the last few days which adds that richer flavor and additional marbling. I ordered it with the fermented chile sauce but it really didn’t need it because it had such a deep, good flavor just from the meat in its own. For dessert, they surprised me for my birthday with a honey chocolate cube was great but very rich. It was good that it the richness was offset by the ice cream and the Suntory whiskey which comes in later in the palate as an oaky finish and this was topped with big flakes of salt.

The total cost (for my birthday splurge dinner) with the oysters, ceviche, mac and cheese, steak and some drinks was about $200 USD. A bit on the pricier side but definitely worth it and a restaurant that I will be going to again should I find myself in Sydney. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone if you are in Sydney or plan to visit!
